IndyCroft.com Presents: RAIDERFEST 2011

Raiderfest is an Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider fan community event meant to celebrate fan tributes to the franchises through music. The contest will begin today and run until September 23, 2011.

The challenge is to create a piece of music that is a tribute to Indiana Jones and/or Tomb Raider. Submissions can be any of the following:

  • a) The fan’s own interpretation of the Indiana Jones and/or Tomb Raider themes on a particular instrument (i.e. piano, guitar, etc.) OR a remix of the themes.
  • b) A lyrical tribute to Indiana Jones and/or Tomb Raider (i.e. a rap, ballad, etc.)
  • c) Or an original composition by the fan as a tribute to Indiana Jones and/or Tomb Raider.

Submissions should be recorded and submitted in MP3 or WMA format, or you may submit a video of you performing the song in WMV format. Submissions should be at least two minutes in length, but no more than five minutes in length. If your song contains lyrics, please include the lyrics in a RTF format document. Lyrics should be clean and should not contain any inappropriate or explicitive language, and should be in English. Only one entry per contestant will be accepted.

Prizes:

  • 1st Place: Will have their choice of either an Indiana Jones “Raiders of the Lost Ark” 12’ Figure from Sideshow Collectibles OR the Art of Tomb Raider book.
  • 2nd Place: Will win a copy of the Indiana Jones Omnibus 1 and Tomb Raider Tankobon 1.
  • 3rd Place: Will have their choice of an Indiana Jones novel OR a Tomb Raider novel.

Judges:

We’re very pleased to announce that we will have three very special guest judges for this contest.

Clint Bajakian: Video game composer, worked with LucasArts from 1991 to 2000. Composed the music for Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, and Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb. Currently employed with Sony Computer Entertainment.

Marcus Trogen: Tomb Raider fan and composer, creator of the Dance Raider tributes.
Anna Meredith: Composer and performer of electronic and acoustic music. Has worked as a composer for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and is currently the PRS/RPS Composer in the House with Sinfonia ViVA.

Your submission must be attached to your email, and must be in the proper format. If we experience any trouble opening your submission we will contact you to let you know. Please make sure to put the following in the subject field of the email: RAIDERFEST 2011 Music Contest Submission.

Please be aware that all submissions must be your original work. If it is discovered that your submission was taken from someone else, you will be disqualified and banned from participating in any future events hosted on the site. By submitting your
music you are giving IndyCroft.com permission to post your work on the website. If you do not want your work viewable to others on the site, you must state this in your submission’s email.
